Dr. Matt Lee
Interim Executive Vice President & Provost
Matt Lee currently serves as the interim executive vice president & provost at LSU. In this capacity, he serves as the chief academic officer and the chief operating officer of the institution. He provides executive oversight for all aspects of instruction, research, recruitment and student affairs, working closely with deans, vice presidents, faculty and staff leadership. His administrative motto is “Excellence through Innovation," and he ardently supports the "Scholarship First" initiative established by LSU President Tate. Prior to this appointment, Lee served as the vice provost for academic programs and support services (2015-2021) and as associate vice president for research and economic development (2010-2015). A sociologist by training, his scholarly work has been centered in criminology, public health and community resilience.
Dr. Jacqueline Bach
Acting Vice Provost for Academic Programs & Support Services
Jacqueline Bach serves as the acting vice provost for academic programs and support services and has executive oversight for numerous nationally recognized student support programs and centers, and fosters substantial growth in various innovative academic pathways.
Dr. Sibel Bargu Ates
Associate Dean in the College of the Coast & Environment
Sibel Bargu Ates serves as the Executive Vice President & Provost’s representative
on the Administrative Process Improvement Committee, the Benefits Oversight Committee,
the Campus Planning Oversight Committee, the Committee on Naming University Facilities,
the Executive Oversight Committee for University Operations and Services Assessment,
and the Faculty Senate Benefits Committee. In addition, she serves as ex-officio on
the University Budget Committee and collaborates with the Office of Facility & Property
oversight on overall space allocation and planning.
Dr. Jason Hicks
Associate Dean of the College of Humanities & Social Sciences
Jason Hicks serves as the principal resource for interpretation and application of all academic personnel policies for the Executive Vice President & Provost. His responsibilities include travel and expenditure approvals, as well as faculty hiring and credentialing. In addition, he serves as the SEC ALDP Liaison for LSU.
