Biography

Christina Rothenbeck joined LSU as an instructor in 2015 after receiving her doctorate in literature and creative writing from The University of Southern Mississippi. Originally from New Jersey, she received her BA in English from Montclair State University and then began her gradual move south, receiving her MFA in poetry from West Virginia University before moving to Mississippi. Her chapbook, Girls in Art, was published in 2012 on dancing girl press, and her poems have appeared in Pittsburgh Poetry Review, Sugar House Review, and Bone Bouquet, among other places. Her research and teaching interests include American literature, 20th & 21st century poetry, and women and gender studies. At LSU, she has taught composition courses (English 1001 and 2000), as well as Major American Authors (English 2270), Introduction to Poetry (English 2027), and Introduction to Images of Women (English 2593). She is currently working on a full-length poetry manuscript, Quarry.
