Protect Yourself and Others from COVID-19
April 19, 2021; 4:30 p.m.
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
We’re all very encouraged by the more than 10,000 students and employees who have already gotten vaccinated against COVID-19. In support of LSU’s commitment to health and safety for all members of our community, we strongly encourage all students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated.
Although we can’t require vaccinations under FDA Emergency Use Authorization status, broad immunization is critical to helping end the current pandemic and to protecting our overall university community. It will also help us return to pre-pandemic normal this Fall, including face-to-face courses, a wider range of events and activities on campus, expanded dining and recreation options, and greater interpersonal collaboration among faculty, students and researchers. Most importantly, a safer LSU ultimately means a safer Louisiana for our families, friends and neighbors.
FEMA has established a drive-up/walk-up East Baton Rouge COVID Vaccine Center that is open to everyone, with very little waiting. Learn more about this and other vaccine locations in our area, and about vaccines in general so you can be fully informed.
Once you get vaccinated, please let us know by taking the Vaccination Reporting Survey.
