Area of Interest

Research in my lab focuses on discovering the relationships of fishes to better understand evolution and Earth history. The Fish Lab has traveled to over 40 countries for our natural history research which includes studying and collecting specimens for the LSU Museum of Natural Science where I am Curator of Fishes. We work closely with local collaborators to explore aquatic habitats from oceans to caves and do our best to build scientific infrastructure where it is needed through education and training. We work on biodiversity science from historical biogeography to phylogenomics and taxonomy.
