What type of work will you be doing?
100% of Perkins loan map qualify for cancellation if employment is in the following fields:
- Teaching: Special Education, Handicap, Shortage Fields, Low Income School Listed with U.S. Department of Education, Head Start, Pre-Kindergarten and Child Care Programs licensed or regulated by the State
- Law Enforcement Officer working as a Police or Corrections Officer, in an Attorney General's Office or District Attorney's Office, or as a Federal Public Defender
- Nurse or Medical Technician
- Professional provider of early intervention services providing care to infants and toddlers up to age 3
- Employee of family service agency working only with high risk children from low income communities at a public or private nonprofit agency
- Military Service in a Hostility Area
- Speech-language Pathologist with a master's degree and working exclusively with Title I Eligible Students
- Firefighter
- Faculty Member at a Tribal College or University
- Librarian with a master's degree in library science and employed in an elementary or secondary school that qualifies for Title I funding, or in a public library that serves a geographic area that includes one or more Title I schools
