Dr. Yizhou Qian (pronounced YEE-joh CHI-en; go by Dr. Q) is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the School of Kinesiology at Louisiana State University. His research applies quantitative and qualitative techniques to problems in consumer behavior and marketing, and his recent research has examined the intersection of sports and technology including esports, social live streaming (SLS), and gamification. He has also investigated how sports market demand influences the consumption of sports services.
So far, Dr. Qian’s research has been published in academic journals including Journal of Business Research, Sport Management Review, European Sport Management Quarterly, Communication and Sport, International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, International Journal of Sport Communication, Frontiers in Psychology, and Sustainability.
Dr. Qian also serves on the editorial board for the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, Journal of Amateur Sport, and Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports.
