Undergraduate Advising

The Office of Student Services assists students majoring in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics, as well as students interested in pursuing professional school in medicine and dentistry.

  1. Under Explore choose Appointments
  2. Select Schedule an appointment
  3. Select Type of Appointment: Academic Advising
  4. Select  appropriate service noted below: Advising- Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors
    1. Advising (First-year Only) - currently enrolled students declared College of Science major with less than 30 credits hours earned
    2. Graduation Check Out - Seniors whose anticipated date of graduation is the upcoming semester
    3. Faculty Advising - Chemistry, Geology, Math, and Physics majors may schedule appointment with faculty advisor. Other majors will need to email their department.
    4. Geaux Teach - Students pursuing secondary education concentrations
    5. Pre-Med / Pre-Dental - Students pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, or optometry with specific questions about these fields or the application cycle.
    6. Residential College Advising - Students living in the  Science Residential College
  5. Select preferred Date and click “Find Available Time”
  6. Select a time that works for you within College of Science
  7. Add comments to explain what you need to discuss during your appointment.
  8. Confirm contact info
  9. Click “Schedule”
  10. Check email confirmation containing a Zoom link.

Appointments open every Friday morning at 9:00 a.m.  If you do not see availability, please check back for student cancellations. If you have time sensitive matter or not sure if you actually need an appointment, you may contact us via email at science@lsu.edu or call at 225-578-4200.

Student Services business hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. If you email our team outside of these hours, you will receive a response during business hours only.

Scheduling Priority
Student priorities are determined by adding the semester hours earned to the hours currently carried. Undergraduate transfer students and re-entry students will be placed in a priority group based on credit that has been awarded by Undergraduate Admissions and any courses that are currently in progress. Determine your scheduling priority by reviewing the Spring 2025 Scheduling Booklet which will be updated Oct. 8, 2024.
