Having the opportunity to provide residents with the chance to create meaningful relationships with others, to create an environment where residents feel like they matter and belong, and to provide an opportunity for residents to develop life skills is the highlight of my professional career.

"I have learned that the personality of each building varies drastically. For example, programming efforts, administrative responsibilities, and even behavioral concerns range within each community that I lived in. Despite these differences, however, my main goal remained the same. This goal involved creating a positive living environment designed to stimulate academic excellence, social support, and overall personal development for all residents, regardless of classification, identity, major, etc." -Amberlon

My favorite thing to do in Baton Rouge

One of my favorite things to do is visit the local BREC parks and participate in community events that are hosted each month. It provides me an opportunity to become more involved in the Greater Baton Rouge community, meet new people, and have fun!

If I didn't have this job, I would be an

Occupational therapist
