Summer Leadership Institute
Each year, the LSU Office of Academic Affairs hosts its annual Summer Leadership Institute (SLI). Faculty members that hold administrative positions (e.g. Associate Dean, Department Chair/Director) are invited to attend. The goal of the institute is to provide useful information, such as policy or procedural updates, in preparation for the upcoming academic year. In addition, the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost provides an update on current university initiatives and priorities.

New Faculty Summit
Newly hired faculty are invited to attend the 2026 New Faculty Summit. The summit provides a comprehensive overview of LSU's policies, procedures, and resources to ensure a successful and smooth transition into the LSU community. New faculty will have the opportunity to connect with peers, learn valuable information, and embark on their journey at LSU with confidence and support.

Refresh | New Perspectives on Teaching
REFRESH | New Perspectives on Teaching is an annual event hosted by the LSU Learning and Teaching Collaborative, held just before the start of the fall semester. Designed to energize and inspire faculty for the year ahead, REFRESH features a keynote speaker who addresses current and practical topics in teaching, offering concrete strategies to enhance classroom practice. The event also includes an interactive workshop where participants can dive deeper into the theme and explore new techniques, followed by a lunch that provides time for networking and informal discussion. REFRESH is a chance to gain fresh ideas, connect with colleagues, and start the academic year with renewed focus and purpose.
