Black History Month

The Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center (AACC) is excited to continue the legacy of celebrating Black History Month (BHM) this February. The AACC and Division of Engagement, Civil Rights, and Title IX welcome all Tigers during this engaging month of Black and African American culture, tradition, and experience.

  • February 3: Black History Month Kick-Off - 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CT) at the AACC
  • February 6: Mix & Mingle w/ Faculty & Staff - 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CT) at the AACC (bring your lunch) 
  • February 7: Black HIV Aids Awareness Day STI/HIV testing - 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CT) at Free Speech Alley
  • February 11: Women in Science Movie event - 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (CT) at the AACC
  • February 14: Valentine's Day - 12 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the AACC
  • February 17: LSU Wall Street - 5 p.m. -7:00 p.m. (CT) at the LSU Union
  • February 19: Black Inventors & Scientists Museum - 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (CT) on Free Speech Alley
  • February 20: The Chop - 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (CT) at the Student Union
  • February 23 Soul Service Sunday* - at 11:00 a.m. (CT) at United Christian Faith Ministries
  • February 25: MLK Live Museum - 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (CT) at the AACC
  • February 25: Connecting Through Conversation - 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (CT) at the AACC
  • February 27: MLK Unity Celebration*- 6 p.m. to 8:00p.m. (requires RSVP/invitation) at the Huey P. Long Field House
