LSU's Boyd Professors and President William F. Tate IV celebrated nine faculty members during a recognition ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 20. This event marks the first of its kind, recognizing the top academic, scientific, and creative achievements from across all eight LSU institutions over the last academic year.

Five years ago, the LSU College of Engineering and BASF officially opened the BASF Sustainable Living Laboratory in Patrick F. Taylor Hall. Since then, research conducted in the lab has ranged from developing a portable water filtration system using visible light from the sun to creating new functional polymers and nanoscale composites for healthcare, energy, environmental, and other industrial applications.

Cybersecurity jobs are among the fastest growing careers nationwide. To meet this critical demand across every industry, having the top cybersecurity experts to train the next generation of information security analysts and cyber professionals is a priority at LSU.

LSU's School of Library & Information Science is a new member of the Climate Heritage Network -- a mutual support group of organizations dedicated to advancing the role of heritage as an agent for change.

LSU will be leading a student mobility initiative in Africa with eight other Southeastern Conference universities. This initiative is the first of its kind to be launched in the United States and will primarily focus on recruitment in Ghana and Senegal.

“The Laughing Man,” a feature documentary by LSU Associate Professor of Creative Writing & Screen Arts Zack Godshall, will play at the Manship Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m.
