ALUMNI AMBASSADORS

gradutes

Our mission as a prestigious flagship university is focused on generating solutions, enriching our communities, and leading as a catalyst for social mobility. As an LSU alum, you represent our university in advancing that mission, and your involvement is critical to ensuring it continues for future Tigers.

Each of the last four years LSU has welcomed its largest, highest-achieving, and most diverse incoming classes ever in our 160+ year history. Excitement around LSU is at an all-time high, and we need you to keep it going.

The LSU Office of Admissions is seeking Alumni Ambassadors to serve as volunteers throughout the recruitment cycle to engage with prospective students and share your LSU experience. We invite you to view some of the opportunities you'll have as an Alumni Ambassador below, and we appreciate your consideration in helping to continue a legacy of success.

May thy spirit live in us. Forever LSU.

ENGAGE WITH STUDENTS

Outreach to Prospective or Admitted Students
Outreach takes place in the Fall & Spring

Communicating with prospective students helps to create a personal bond between LSU and the student. You may be asked to call a list of students in your area and encourage them to apply or congratulate them on their admission to LSU. Ambassadors will be provided with contact information for students in their areas.

Participate in Admissions Interviews
Interviews take place in October & November

Interview prospective students for admission to the university and participate in the decision-making process. These interviews will allow you to get to know prospective students while sharing your own LSU experiences and helping to shape the freshman class. These interviews will take place at both on and off campus locations.

ATTEND RECRUITMENT EVENTS

Admitted Student Receptions
Receptions are held in March & April

Admitted Student Receptions celebrate students’ acceptance to LSU in their geographic areas. Here, students are able to meet other future Tigers from their hometown and mingle with alumni, which allows students to feel like part of the LSU family. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to interact with admitted students and share why LSU should be their next home. You may also be invited to sit on a panel at these receptions.

College Fairs
Fairs are typically held in the Fall

Attending a college fair is an easy, fun way to represent LSU. Fairs increase LSU’s presence in key markets and provide a unique opportunity for personal interaction between alumni and students. Don’t worry if you don’t know all of the answers! Your main job is to collect students’ information and encourage them to visit campus.
