Several factors are weighed in the scholarship awarding process, including, but not limited to: high school academic performance, standardized test scores, family background, achievements in and out of the classroom, and demonstration of financial need.

We are committed to being a smart investment in your educational journey, and as a result, scholarship dollar amounts have historically been adjusted and increased year-over-year.

STAMPS SCHOLARSHIP & PRESIDENT'S ALUMNI AWARD

Since 2012, LSU has been a proud partner of the Stamps Scholars Program which provides merit scholarships to the brightest and most outstanding undergraduate freshmen admitted to Louisiana State University. This elite award offers a full cost of attendance for four years, as well as an unprecedented level of funding for enrichment experiences. Stamps Scholars are directed to resources that will help cultivate each scholar's intellectual distinction, initiative, and commitment to service, leadership, global knowledge, and career exploration.

The President's Alumni Scholars Program is sponsored by LSU and also offers selected students the full cost of attendance for four years along with a study abroad stipend.

Prospective freshmen with a strong record of elite academic achievement, leadership, and service are selected for consideration through the admissions process. Prospective students must complete their application to the university through the Common Application, and submit all required documentation by the December 15 priority deadline to be considered.

The Office of Enrollment Management, in consultation with the LSU Ogden Honors College, evaluates completed applications and selects students to invite to the scholarship competition. These semifinalists are notified via email by the Office of Admissions and asked to submit an essay and resume. Upon review of the essays and resumes, top competitors are selected to advance to Scholars Weekend where they will participate in activities and complete an in-person interview.
